• Independent housing can be a good option for students who prefer to have their own space and value their independence, as well as for students who plan to have visitors.
• Students who choose that option should also bear in mind that living independently also involves being responsible for domestic and administrative chores, feeling quite lonely at times, and not speaking French as often as one would with a host family.
• The Center staff will provide advice to students who prefer to make their own living arrangements. While it is possible to find apartments in Paris at reasonable cost, it can take time. Therefore, students who intend to search for apartments, if they have no other obligations, should try and arrange for their housing prior to the beginning of Orientation.
• Students living independently will be solely responsible for housing, related costs and other commitments that may arise from their choice.
